WORKPLACE WELL-BEING

Integrating work & life CoachVeena has found in her 35 years of work journey that Workplace Well-Being encompasses both how we think about our work as a whole & how we feel while doing it. Research demonstrates that improving WW can boost productivity, aid in talent retention & recruitment, and ultimately improve financial performance.
Through this workshop, CoachVeena provides a data driven perspective on the connections between happiness, productivity & organizational success. We present new, evidence-based insights into the origins of workplace well-being & how business can enhance employee experience. By providing a framework for how business can approach & improve employee wellbeing, CoachVeena is setting up a firm foundation & indispensable resource for leaders seeking to shape the future of work.

Why this PROGRAMME on Workplace Well-Being?

According to estimates from the McKinsey Health Institute, India’s corporate mental health crisis is escalating at a pace that can no longer be ignored. 59% of Indian employees report burnout, nearly half say workplace stress is their single biggest mental health trigger, and poor employee well being could drain $350 billion every year, close to 8% of India’s GDP.
Most of us spend a third of our waking lives at work. Work shapes our schedule, relationships, identities and economies. Its important to pause & ask ourselves – Is it actually making me happy?
Being an employee herself for >35years, CoachVeena has seen the mental trauma jobs have the capacity to create. Hence she aims to help employees prioritize mental health and well-being to build a healthier self and a resilient workplace. By offering data-driven insights, the program aims to enable companies to assess employee mental health and well-being at the workplace. We also provide expert recommendations for interventions and a customized roadmap to implement meaningful initiatives, and drive long-term cultural change within an organization.
Forbes says “If you want to be productive at work, get happy”.

Psychology Counselling

CoachVeena’s counselling sessions are like spiritual therapy. Hop onto this journey with her to break your limiting subconscious patterns, to explore healing tools, practices, and activities and to gain a deeper understanding of your life’s challenges. Whether it’s relationships (with parents, partner, boss, colleagues or friends), mental or physical health related issues, finances, or your own spiritual journey, the session with her would help you navigate your current path and find your optimal potential. You can bring any spiritual or psychological topic that troubles, confuses, or interests you. You may also learn breathwork, shake-it-up & other powerful and life-changing technique during this session.

Primary technique used : Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).

The steps involved in my psychology counselling would vary depending on the therapeutic approach and the specific needs of the client.
Each session would be a WhatsApp audio/video 1hr session. Once in a week. Number of sessions needed would depend on assessment.

Expectations from client : COMMITMENT in terms of time, homework & payment.

Here’s a general outline of the steps involved in my counselling process:

Session1

1.Building rapport: Establishing a comfortable and trusting relationship with the client.
2.Assessment: Gathering information about the client’s concerns, history, and goals. Baselining happiness/ anxiety levels.
3.Identifying goals: Collaborating with the client to identify and clarify their goals for counselling.
4.Give few homework

Consecutive sessions

1.Exploring issues: Helping the client to explore and understand their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
2.Developing insight: Assisting the client in gaining insight into their patterns, motivations, and coping mechanisms.
3.Learning new skills: Educating the client with new coping skills, strategies, and techniques to manage their concerns.
4.Empowering the client: Empowering the client to take control of their life and make informed decisions.

Assigning Home-Work for the week

1. Implementing changes: Supporting the client in implementing changes and working towards their goals by giving them weekly assignments.
2. Evaluating progress: Regularly evaluating the client’s progress and adjusting the counselling plan as we proceed by giving them weekly home-works. Commitment to complete would be expected.

Termination: Gradually terminating the counselling relationship when the client has achieved their goals or is ready to continue on their own.

Therapeutic Techniques that would be used

1. Active listening: Fully engaging with the client and responding in a empathetic and non-judgmental manner.
2. Reflection: Reflecting the client’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to help them gain insight.
3. Empathy: Providing a supportive and understanding environment for the client.
4. Cognitive-behavioral techniques: Helping the client to identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors.
5. Mindfulness-based techniques: Teaching the client mindfulness skills to manage stress and anxiety.

These steps and techniques are not exhaustive.

Coaching (Group coaching / 1:1 coaching)

What is Coaching?

Some definitions are:
Marshal Goldsmith: Helping successful leaders achieve positive, lasting change in behavior; for themselves, their people and their teams.
ICF : It’s a partnership with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal & professional potential, which is particularly important in today’s uncertain & complex environment. Coaches believe every client is creative, resourceful and whole. Standing on this foundation, the coach’s responsibility is to:
Discover, clarify, and align with what the client wants to achieve.
Encourage client’s self-discovery.
Elicit client-generated solutions & strategies.
Hold the client responsible & accountable.
This process helps clients dramatically improve their outlook on work & life, while improving their leadership skills and unlocking their potential.
IIC&M: Coaching is simply an interactive, results-oriented, enlightening process that brings about change.
Also…Coaching is about asking questions, in order to help the client find his/her own answers.
Also…The carrot & stick technique with children or with employees has lost its edge. Childre/employee perform because they want to, not because they have to. You cannot force anyone today. Coaching helps people discover their own potential.

Organizational Change Management (OCM) Consultancy

I worked in multiple large-scale process, system & organizational changes, experiencing a mix of success & failure. I did see a resistance to change, being the primary reason for failures. I have also heard the saying “ All of our change initiatives would have gone great if it weren’t for all the people involved”.
With my experience as OCM consultant, I apply the ADKAR (Awareness; Desire; Knowledge; Ability; Reinforcement) model to deal with the resistance as she knows that people are the backbone of any change. She connects with the senior management to understand & ensure that leadership is aligned to the change. She builds the OCM strategy, including communications & training strategy, to ensure that the people change is implemented as intended.
